Vintage 1970's North Face SEROW Blue Goose Down Long Parka Brown Label Size Medium

This is North Face's 1970s heavy duty down parka. This one has more goose down insulation and also has an additional covering that goes over the quilted down filled nylon. They made these to be more rugged than their normal 1970s ripstop puffer jackets and they were their most expensive down jacket other than their expedition parkas. Its a great jacket, I had the same coat in the late 1970s for 25 years! It has an outer stash packet, outer hand pockets, hand warmer pockets, inner stash pocket, drawstring, and Velcro fasteners on the sleeves and pockets, yes they only made one Brand of Velcro in the 1970s and North Face Used it! North Face Snap closure on the front to cut down on drafts through the heavy duty YKK Zipper. Its a little longer than most of their early down jackets as its made to cover your backside. Yes this is one of the Jackets that put North Face on the Map for Winter Expedition gear. This would be a great jacket to have in your truck for those extremely cold days or pack it into your emergency gear bag. The exterior fabric looks like it has more nylon in it than what I remember my jacket being so this could be an earlier version it also has that shine like nylon but I think these were made with their 60/40 Nylon cotton cordura fabric which was also a North Face Innovation..

Condtiion: I washed it twice once by hand and another in the machine, the collar is still discolored on the inside see photos. Although its as clean as its gonna get for a 45 year old jacket. I see some other discoloration to the outside but its really minor the inside is clean. Zipper works perfect.
