Santo Domingo Thunderbird Earrings from the 1930s- 1940s these match the Battery Bird Necklaces I have listed. A classic Thunderbird design earring made by the Santo Domingo Indians in the 30's - 40s, made of scrap plastic and chip inlay Turquoise. These depression era earrings are made from discarded scrap plastic sometimes red Dairy Queen plastic silverware, old records and other scrap plastic. These were some of the poorest Native Americans during the depression and they learned to make beautiful work with the materials they had available. Like all pieces of this age these have gotten very difficult to find. These are show with a Vintage Resistol Open Road hat from the 1950s.
