Early 1970's USAF Pilots Nomex Flight Jacket Colonel Vietnam 1st Pattern with Orange Signal Pocket
This is the First Pattern Nomex flight jacket worn by a Vietnam Era Pilot, I think he was a forward Air Controller in Vietnam but this jacket was made after the war. These early jackets had the Orang Nylon signal square which fits in a special pocket inside the jacket, and the original square is still there in unused condition. This jacket has Colonel Birds on the shoulders and Velcro on the sleeves and chest for patches. This is the cold weather jacket with a bi-swing back and knit cuffs and waistband. Looks in great shape see photos. The later jackets they deleted the interior signal panel pocket.
